Ness Running Club has been awarded £1,200 towards its 2025 North Lewis 5/10k and fun run, which will be held on Saturday 6th December. Our Community Investment Fund (CIF) has contributed towards the funding of the run for the last couple of years, valuing the importance of the event and the training leading up to it. This year, due to the success and longevity of the run, we have awarded Ness Running Club a three-year sponsorship CIF award in support of the event.
This community event, which celebrates its 16th event this year, is now firmly established on the island’s running calendar and continues to be well supported by both the runners and volunteers who turn out each year.
This event contributes towards our Care and Wellbeing and Exceptional Place strategic priorities, helping to improve health and wellbeing, provide volunteer opportunities, improve social inclusion and help relieve poverty. The run, which takes place in Ness every December, is all about people working together; running or volunteering, from the youngest to the oldest, the community comes together to make the event the success that it is.
