Funding Boost for Football Facilities at Fivepenny

Ness Football Club has received £2,000 from Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn’s Community Investment Fund towards the purchase of a new 20-foot storage container at Fivepenny Football Pitch.

The container will provide essential dry storage for the club’s growing collection of training equipment and spectator seating, protecting these items from damage caused by the weather.The wider project also includes new goals, portable floodlighting and seating, supporting the continued development of football facilities in Ness.

Recent improvements will allow more players to train locally throughout the winter instead of travelling to Stornoway, reducing travel, expense and inconvenience - particularly for younger players and their families.

Enhanced facilities will also allow Ness FC to accommodate training events and welcome other clubs and organisations to use the site.

The project forms part of Ness FC’s wider ambition to develop its facilities, support the continued growth of football in the area and provide better opportunities for players and supporters across the community.
