Community Investment Fund no longer accepting applications

The Community Investment Fund is no longer taking new applications.

The sub-sea cable failure between Skye and Harris has had a major impact on the wind energy development at Ballantrushal, and much uncertainty has arisen as a result. The failure will result in a downturn in donations made from Galson Energy to Urras Oighreachd Ghabhsainn.

It is not yet possible to know the full impact to the organisation and a full review will be undertaken to consider the short-term actions required, whilst also being mindful of the long term and the strategic vision.

It is thus prudent to freeze the Community Investment Fund, which means no new applications till further notice.

It is hoped as more information is obtained to support the review that it will allow us to confirm the position in the coming months.
