The UOG Hardship Fund provides confidential emergency financial assistance to residents of the Galson Estate Trust area, from Upper Barvas to the Port of Ness, who are experiencing financial hardship. The fund is intended as a last resort when all other appropriate sources of support have been explored. Applications must be submitted on behalf of the resident by a recognised professional or support worker and may cover essential needs such as groceries, clothing, bedding, white goods and energy bills, with other essential items considered depending on individual circumstances. All applications are reviewed by UOG, with approved support arranged through the referring professional to help protect the client’s privacy.
