ADABROCK / ADABROC
Adabrock (Gaelic: Adabroc) is a village on the east side of Ness, bordered by Eorodale, Skigersta, Cross Skigersta Road and Lionel.
In 1910, Donald Murray from Adabrock, whilst digging for fuel in the peats, discovered several bronze implements which are now known as the Adabrock Hoard. The Hoard consisted of many items including two socketed axes, a socketed gouge, a spear head, a tanged chisel and three thin oval tanged blades of the variety now generally described as razors. These items are now on display in Edinburgh in the National Museum of Scotland.
Adabrock has a working well – Tobar Alasdair Buachaille. This is still used by many to obtain good fresh spring water for domestic use.
Breanish Tweed is also located in Adabrock; this is a family business which supplies tweed to tailors and fashion houses as far away as Tokyo. There is also Adabrock Weaving Company in the village.

’S ann air taobh sear Nis a tha Adabroc (Beurla: Adabrock) ’s e ann an crìch ri Eòradal, Sgiogarstaigh, Rathad Chrois Sgiogarstaigh agus Lìonal.
Ann an 1910, nuair a bha Dòmhnall Moireach a’ buain na mònadh airson connadh, lorg e grunnan innealan umha a dh’fhàs a bhith aithnichte mar Stòr Adabroic. Bha iomadh nì san stòr, a’ gabhail a-steach dà thuagh shocaideach, gilb-chruinn shocaideach, ceann sleagha, sgeilb bhiorach agus trì lannan thana, bhiorach, ughach den t-seòrsa a bhios air ainmeachadh san fharsaingeachd mar ealtainnean an-diugh. Faodar na rudan seo fhaicinn a-nis ann an Dùn Èideann, ann an Taigh-Tasgaidh Nàiseanta na h-Alba.
Tha tobar ann an Adabroc a tha fhathast ga chleachdadh – Tobar Alasdair Buachaille. Bidh tòrr dhaoine a’ tarraing deagh uisge fhuarain às airson a chleachdadh anns an dachaigh.
’S e Adabroc am baile far a bheil Clò Bhrèinis suidhichte; seo gnìomhachas a bhios a’ solarachadh clò do thàillearan agus taighean-fhasain cho fad’ air falbh ri Tokyo. Tha 'Adabrock Weaving Company' ann am baile cuideachd.
