Fiona’s Social Documentary Photo Project update

The photographing for the 10th anniversary social documentary project is well under way. I have been visiting a wide range of people from across the community, speaking to them about their experiences, about their connection to the place and the land, then photographing them in a context that suits the person. There has been a great response from the community and over 30 people have been interviewed and photographed so far. My hope is that we can speak to another 20 this month. I am particularly looking for some more people from Barvas, and any young people under 18 from anywhere on the estate to be involved in the project.

A selection of the images will be chosen for an exhibition that will open in June and will be situated in the UOG Business centre. All the participants of the project will be invited to a private viewing event and the exhibition will then be open to the public for the months of July and August.

I’d also like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has been involved so far. I really appreciate you taking the time to speak to me!
